If you asked Carl Wilson when he was a teenager that he would become obsessed with having a clean house he would have laughed in your face. Fast forward to present day Carl has won the cleanest person in his house for five straight years. If you ask Carl’s wife and daughters they would say this title is not really a thing. They will tell this award was derived from Carl and no one besides him really recognizes this award. Of course, Carl has a different view on the importance of this award and what it means in the Wilson household.
The Origin Of The Cleanest Person In The House Award
As the stay at home dad, Carl was all about routine. Each day there was something that needed to be done. Thursday was cleaning day. Carl would have a love-hate relationship with Thursday. He longed to have a clean house, but hated the process of having to clean the whole house that day. He would start off grumpy that morning, but eventually as the house got clean he would start to become filled with happiness knowing that the house was back to normal. That was until other family members would dirty up the house. Clothes strewn about. The once pristine sink was filled with food crumbs. His eyes would start to twitch when he saw his work be all for naught.
He started thinking of ways he could get his family on board with keeping the house clean. That day about five years ago, Carl came top with the cleanest person in the house award. He told his family of the challenge at dinner to many eye rolls and dismissals. His family knew that he would keep going on and on about the award that they just agreed with him so they could move on. What seemed like a quick and easy solution now has been going on for five years.
Can Carl Go For Six Years In A Row?
Again if you asked Carl’s family about this award they would tell you it is not a real thing. For Carl, he just scoffs and says it is a real thing since there is a trophy given to the winner each year. Carl bases the winner on a few different categories. He tallies up the results and presents the winner the trophy. Since Carl has won each year, he gives a speech where he thanks everyone for noticing how clean the house is and challenges his family every year to see if they can take that title away from him. Carl is so confident in winning next year that he is already working on his speech. You got to admire Carl’s drive to keep a clean house!
