Collector Of The Week – A Fantastic Street Fighter Collection

A new week means a new post for Collector of the Week here at The Art of Fatherhood. As a fellow geek and collector of all things Pop Culture I wanted to showcase some cool collections that dads share in our community. We talk about the latest movies, comic books, and video games that we are enjoying at the moment.

This Week’s Collector – Zach Rosenberg – Street Fighter

This week we are putting the spotlight on a guy who is all about that pop culture life, Zach Rosenberg. Here is what he had to say.

I love the Street Fighter franchise. I’m not the best player, not by far. But something about finding that CAPCOM cabinet in the days of arcades was special. I wasn’t good enough to fight against the AI in arcades at first, but enough trips to the mall and quarters spent at the arcade helped. Soon enough, Street Fighter II came out on the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis and practice was free.

I didn’t have any Street Fighter collectibles when I was younger. Just had a couple of games and strategy guides. But sometime in my adult life, I decided to start scooping up any interesting Street Fighter stuff I could find; books, figures, games and especially an Arcade 1up replica cabinet. Now that I collect video game soundtracks on vinyl, I’ve even got as many Street Fighter related records as I can find!

I even took a picture with former Capcom producer and sound designer Yoshinori Ono, who worked on a lot of the Street Fighter series!

Thanks for sharing Zach. It is a legit collection.

Whatcha Got?

It can be comic books, bottle caps, records, helmets or whatever you are into! I want to see what your passion is and why you started up that collection. For me, I believe that in each collection lies a better story. I want to share your story!
