A new week means a new post for Collector of the Week here at The Art of Fatherhood. As a fellow geek and collector of all things Pop Culture I wanted to showcase some cool collections that dads share in our community. We love to see this passion in what people collect. We talk about the latest movies, sports memorabilia, a New York Giants memorabilia collection and video games that we are enjoying at the moment.
This Week’s Collector – New York Giants Memorabilia
This week’s collector is from Matt. Matt is a die-hard New York Giants football fan! Moreover, he is a friend of mine and he was nice enough to talk about his Giants memorabilia collection.
I’ve been a NY Giants fan my entire life. Growing up on Long Island, we were split between Giants and Jets fans. My father being the latter made for some interesting Sundays in our house. In addition, I went to many games as a kid. Also, I was fortunate enough at one time to live right down the road from their former training facility in Albany, NY. This is where the one small ball is from. The year I met my wife we won the Super Bowl . She’s a keeper. Plus, when we got married, my groom’s cake was a Phil Simms helmet.
With family and friends knowing that I’m a huge fan, I’ve been given part of my collection but I’ve purchased most of it over the years. In addition, we are planning some future home renovations and a big part of that will be to display as many Big Blue items in my new home office as I can.
Thanks for sharing your collection Matt. Your collection is legit.
Whatcha Got?
It can be comic books, bottle caps, records, helmets or whatever you are into! I want to see what your passion is and why you started up that collection. For me, I believe that in each collection lies a better story. Therefore, I want to share your story! Feel free to reach out to me and share your collection. Additionally, if you enjoyed this post check out another Collector of the Week article.
