This week for the These Dads Are Doing It Right series I wanted to highlight some dads and organizations that are looking to assist dads and their families. From resources to outings these dads and companies are doing it right. If there are any other companies that you think we should check out leave their name and info in the comment section below.
TRUE Dads – Helping Out Families
TRUE Dads is a free program in Oklahoma City that helps dads be the kind of father they want to be. Through a series of 8 free workshops led by trained educators, TRUE Dads empowers you as a dad, along with your co-parent. It teaches parenting and relationship skills and offers employment help. The program connects you with other fathers and with local services as needed. We strive to make it easy for dads, no matter their situation, to join and participate.
Good Dads
Good Dads is the only organization in Southern Missouri focused on helping all dads be more engaged with their children. It began when business leaders in Springfield, Missouri recognized the impact of father absence. They saw the effect on child well-being and came together for the purpose of supporting father engagement. Good Dads is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that aims to encourage fathers by providing inspiration, resources and events to help dads be the best they can be.
Fathers & Families
Founded in 1997, Fathers & Families Support Center is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families. They do this by encouraging committed and responsible parents. Their goal is to break the cycle of poverty, child neglect and abuse. In addition, they look to stop welfare dependence. This is done by educating and preparing fathers to become responsible parents with the financial stability. Therefore it will help to support their children materially and the parenting skills to support them emotionally and developmentally.
Fathers Forever
Fathers Forever is a non-profit organization that will equip and enable fathers through training and education. They help to begin or improve their financial duties of child support. Upon completion of their program fathers will have a newfound appreciation of their role and responsibility as a father. They will now fully understand. Lastly, they provide strategies to assist fathers in becoming more financially responsible. They help parents by assisting them in finding jobs. Therefore it helps and develop a structured child support payment plan to support their children.
