This week for the These Dads Are Doing It Right series I am highlighting some great dads in the MCU. The MCU is known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From TV shows to movies I wanted to highlight some dads who are fantastic fathers. In addition, if there are any other dads that you think we should check out, leave their name and info in the comment section below.
Great Dads In MCU
Yusuf Khan
A loving and supportive family man, Yusuf Khan does his utmost to take care of his children, Aamir and Kamala. Of course Kamala is also known as Ms. Marvel. Khan and his wife find out that their daughter is a superhero and he tries to learn more about it. After a while he starts showcasing pride in his daughter’s superhero career. From the Ms. Marvel TV series to the Daredevil TV series to The Marvels movie you see all sides of Yusuf and how he looks to be a supportive dad.
T’Chaka
In the MCU, T’Chaka, as a father, is portrayed as a king and a parent who tries to balance all the responsibilities of leadership and the impact of his decisions on his family. He is the father of T’Challa and Shuri. Both kids are brilliant, caring, loving and brave. T’Chaka looks to share his life experience with his kids. Unfortunately, he was killed by Hemlut Zemo. Yet he is able to communicate to T’Challa a few times since his passing.
Clint Barton
In the TV series, Hawkeye, we get to see Clint Barton and his family carry on after the Endgame film. We see him and his wife Laura and their three children, Cooper, Lila, and Nathaniel. The series explores Clint’s humanity and struggles with mental and physical health. In addition he is not looking to fight anyone even though that life is bringing him back in. You see the many ways he looks to protect his family and tries to be the best dad he can be.
Yondu
Many people would say that Yondu is not the best person in the galaxy, but in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy we get to see that Yondu is more than meets the eye. We learned that Yondu doesn’t hand over Peter to Peter’s dad Ego because Yondu knew that Ego would kill Peter. Yondu made many decisions to help others and take a backseat to what he wants. There are a few touching moments in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy where Yondu shows a lot of heart.
