These Dads Are Doing It Right – Part 277 – Great NHL Dad And Son Duos

This week for the These Dads Are Doing It Right series I am highlighting on some great NHL dad and son duos. These dads and sons have made a name for themselves on the ice playing hockey. In addition, if there are any other dads that you think we should check out, leave their name and info in the comment section below.

Great NHL Dad And Son Duos

Gordie, Mark and Marty Howe

Gordie Howe, nicknamed “Mr. Hockey,” had a remarkable career spanning five decades in the NHL. The hockey legend played with his sons, Mark and Marty, on the Houston Aeros of the World Hockey Association (WHA) and the Hartford Whalers of the NHL. He famously came out of retirement in 1973 to join his sons on the Aeros and later played a season with them in the NHL.

Keith, Matthew and Brady Tkachuk

Keith Tkachuk is a retired NHL star, and both of his sons, Matthew and Brady, are current NHL players. Matthew plays for the Florida Panthers and has won two Stanley Cups, while Brady is the captain of the Ottawa Senators. The Tkachuk family has a significant hockey legacy, and the three of them were recently featured on the deluxe cover of NHL 26

Tie and Max Domi

Tie and Max Domi are a father-son duo with NHL careers, with Tie being a former enforcer for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Max a current player known for his offensive skills. The two made NHL history as the first father-son pair to each score a game-winning goal against the same franchise in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Paul and Sam Reinhart

Paul and Sam Reinhart are an NHL father-son duo, where Paul is a former defenseman and Sam is a current NHL player. The family has a tradition of hockey, with Paul’s other two sons, Max and Griffin, also playing professionally. Paul was a professional hockey player in the NHL for 11 years, and his son Sam was a second-overall draft pick and is a star player who recently won the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers
