Matt Williams was looking over his shopping list before he left his home. As he was looking over the items, he saw that his kids requested some energy drinks. Some influencer has a new energy drink line and it is all the rage with the tweens and teens. Before he went to question his kids’ life choices, he wondered if he ever used energy drinks when he was a teenager. At that moment he realized two things. One, there were no such things as energy drinks until he got into college. Two, he is old. After shaking those feelings off, he asked his kids why they needed energy drinks.
Why Do Kids Need Energy Drinks
Matt’s sons told him that they need the energy drinks because it will help them focus on their homework. The way Matt rolled his eyes would make you think his eyes would have popped out of his skull. To counter that point, Matt asked if their teachers were endorsing these drinks since it “helps” with homework. Matt’s kids responded with their own exaggerated eye roll. After not hearing any valid argument about needing energy drinks, Matt gave the standard parent response of “We’ll see.” That was also met with another round of eye rolls.
More Healthy, Less Energy
While at the store, Matt looked over the ingredients in the latest drink fad and didn’t see anything of value. He did some research on his phone at the store. He found some fruits and veggies that would make for a healthier alternative. He put those items into his shopping cart and was ready to go home to experiment on making a healthy, but tasty drink.
The first few drink concoctions were horrible, but Matt finally got one that tasted great. Now he just had to think of an outlandish name and make his kids a legit natural energy drink. He landed on the name R.E.A.D.Y. It stood for Real Energy Alternative Drink (for the) Youth. Matt chuckled at the name, but thought it would blend nicely with all the other crazy drink names out there. After packaging a few bottles with the drink and a label he created, he offered them to his kids. To his surprise, his kids loved the drinks. He then surprised his kids when he shared with them that he created the drink. Matt earned some cool dad points that day.
Lolz. This was too funny.
Thanks, Tim!
