Bill Andersen – Inside Out
Bill moved the family from Minnesota to California. We see the many challenges that Bill’s daughter, Riley experienced in Inside Out. Yes, Riley is the main character, but her parents play an important role in the film. With all the emotions that Riley is expressing, Bill gives space that Riley needs. There are times where he steps in to check in on her. He doesn’t make all the right decisions, but in the end you see he is a great dad.
Stoick the Vast – How To Train Your Dragon
Stoick the Vast was not only Hiccup’s dad, but he was the chief of the Hooligan Tribe. In the first film he and Hiccup have issues relating to each other. After a while and some hard talks, they see each other for they are and grow from there. He starts to realize that his son needs to find his own path. Unfortunately, in the second film he has to sacrifice himself to save Hiccup and dies. You have to respect the fact that he put his life on the line to protect his son.
King Fergus – Brave
King Fergus lives in the kingdom of DunBroch in the Scottish Highlands. He lives there with his family and his wife, Queen Elinor. He is the father of their only daughter, Merida, and their three young triplet sons, Harris, Hubert, and Hamish. Fergus is a very loud and charismatic person, but he knows that Merida is strong enough to know what is best for her. He is the voice of reason for the family when his wife argues with Merida on certain subjects. In addition, he has a caring heart and loves his family.
Tatsuo Kusakabe – My Neighbor Totoro
Tatsuo Kusakabe from My Neighbor Totoro is a nurturing father for Satsuki and Mei. He is a university professor. Therefore he looks to balance his family and care for his daughters while working as a professor. If you are a fan of My Neighbor Totoro you know his commitment to his family. He teaches his kids the importance of love, resilience, and imagination. He understands their belief of Totoro.
