Antawn Jamison Talks Fatherhood, Basketball, Scouting & More 

Antawn Jamison sits down with me to talk about his fatherhood journey. We talk about the values he looks to instill into his kids as they grow up. In addition, we chat about how communication is key to creating strong relationships with your kids. After that we talk about life lessons he learned while at UNC. Antawn talks about how Dean Smith impacted his life. In addition, we talk about his time in the NBA, his passion for basketball and scouting talent in the NBA. About Antawn Jamison

Antawn’s career has been truly exemplary. He was born in Shreveport, LA before moving to Charlotte where he became a McDonald’s All-American at Providence High School. He went on to attend UNC-Chapel Hill where he really made a name for himself. In three years at UNC, he averaged 19.0 points and 9.9 rebounds while being named to the All-ACC First Team three times, ACC Player of the Year, ACC Tournament MVP and Consensus First Team All-American. He helped lead the Tar Heels to back-to-back Final Fours in 1997 and 1998. And in 1998, he was awarded both the Naismith and Wooden Awards as the most outstanding men’s college basketball player.

He was the 4th pick of the 1998 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors and immediately traded to the Golden State Warriors for his best friend and college teammate Vince Carter. He went on to be named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team and earned the honors of NBA Sixth Man of the Year and a two-time NBA All-Star. Antawn played 16 years in the NBA for 6 teams while scoring 20,042 points and averaging 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists. For more on Antawn go to his website at antawnjamison.com.
