A new week means a new post for Collector of the Week here at The Art of Fatherhood. As a fellow geek and collector of all things Pop Culture I wanted to showcase some cool collections that dads share in our community. We love to see this passion in what people collect. We talk about the latest movies, sports memorabilia, a Transformer collection, comic books and video games that we are enjoying at the moment.
This Week’s Collector – An Incredible Transformer Collection
This week’s collector is from Drew. He has a great site where he talks about fatherhood and pop culture. When he and I interacted on Twitter about Transformers I asked him if he could share his Transformer collection. Let me just say he did not disappoint. Here is what he had to say about his collection.
I began collecting Transformers in 1984. My grandparents would scour the Eastern seaboard for any and all of them for me for Christmas. I’d open my gifts on Christmas Eve and stay up all night carefully applying the stickers and then transforming each one until I could do it with no help from the instructions. As I got older I began to collect on my own and have amassed a large collection of about 600 Transformers. Wheeljack was my first figure and will always be my favorite. the prize of my collection is Wheeljack in original packaging from 1984.

I thought I had a decent Transformer collection. That was until I saw Ben’s collection. That is a legit collection. Thanks for sharing Drew. Check out the great work he does at his site, BenSpark Family Adventures.
