Getting The House Clean While Being Green

If you listen to the podcast and check out the website you know that I am always looking for ways to become a better dad and person. To do that I need to make sure I am looking at things from different perspectives. Once I became a dad I started thinking about what this world will be like for my kid’s generation. Not only do I want my kids to be positive people in this world, but I want our planet to be in great shape so they can enjoy this planet. Therefore I started looking at what steps my family and I can do to make sure we are taking care of the environment.

Being Green, But Still Getting Clean

When I became a stay at home dad years ago, I created a weekly routine so I was able to manage taking care of my kids and the house. Part of that routine was to set up a weekly cleaning day. At first I was using whatever we had in the house to clean our home. Now, my family and I are trying to be more green and use environmentally conscious products. One segment of cleaning day is doing the laundry. I recently researched how your standard laundry detergent is not an Earth-friendly way to get your clothes clean. Thankfully I found Tru Earth. They have created products with less waste and greener ways to take care of your dirty laundry.

Tru Earth Eco-Strips are a smarter way to clean laundry, period. In addition Tru Earth is a company with heart. They have a program called critical cause to create a lasting and positive change for our planet. For every 32 loads of laundry purchased from Tru Earth, one plastic jug is eliminated from a landfill or ocean. As they often say at Tru Earth, many small hinges can swing this very very big door. They also donate their products to those in need. This movement started during the pandemic. For every first-time subscription purchase, 32 loads of laundry are donated to organizations in need across the globe. So not only when you purchase Tru Earth products that makes your laundry washing chore easier, healthier, more economical, but you are helping create a much kinder worldwide community.

Items That Will Help You Clean And Be Green

Not only do they have laundry strips, but they have sponges to help you clean up in the kitchen, in the bathroom, or any room in your house. Those sponges are 100% plastic-free and fully compostable and are safe for the environment. In addition Tru Earth has Swedish Dishcloths. Those dishcloths are reusable, eco-friendly yet highly effective. The dishcloth can absorb 15x its own weight in liquid (up to 3/4 of a cup) and replace the use of up to 17 rolls of paper towels, thus reducing plastic packaging and household waste in landfills.

When you use products from Tru Earth you are not only taking care of our planet, but you are teaching your kids that it is important to take care of our environment. In addition, these are lessons that your kids can pass onto their kids. The more and more we strive to be green it will make the future bright for generations.

Please note: I am working with Tru Earth on a sponsored campaign. I am receiving payment for my work, but my thoughts are my own. Tru Earth: Clean, green, and simple! Use the code ArtofFatherhood for 10% off your order.

  1. I am happy to see this for so many reasons. One, I am glad that you admit you do the chores that many deem women or moms do. I will show my husband the next time he says he can’t clean the house. lol. It is great to raising attention to these products. We all need to do our part to take care of our planet.

  2. Looks like this company really cares about the planet and people. I know why you wanted to talk about them Art. You always say in your podcast that you want to leave the world in better place. Truearth seems to want the same thing.

  3. I used to use paper towels all the time and a friend of mine made a joke that I was killing a forest of trees each week. After I thought about it I started using cloths to clean the house. Tru Earth seems to help people make better choices.
