Political Calls, Texts & Emails Are Like Toddlers 

Let me first start out by saying that toddlers are awesome. On the flip side, political texts and emails are horrible. I am not saying they are equal. What I am saying is that there are certain traits that the two have in common. The good news is that some of these issues only happen every four years. Thankfully we are almost done with this election year. I can’t wait for all these political texts and emails to go away. I am guessing that you feel the same way. 

Could Toddlers Be The Ones Behind The Political Calls & Texts 

We all know the typical line, “Are we there yet?”, that our kids ask us when we are on a road trip. They are focused on one thing and ask you over and over and over again. It is the same thing when it comes from any political candidate asking for money, donations and help. You can get phone calls, texts and emails asking for “Just $3.” 

The funny part from those calls to action is that they are like reverse auctioneers. I feel like the first ask is for something in the range of $25. Then if you don’t respond it drops to $10. After a while it seems like they are just asking for the change in your couch. I find it both annoying and funny that they keep on asking for money. It is like a toddler wanting that one toy in the store. After they realize that they are not getting it, your child will barter and ask for a candy bar or chips so they can at least get something. 

These Texts And Emails Keep Coming  

Another thing about these texts and emails is that they seem to come in bunches. You get flooded with a bunch of alerts on your phone about who to vote for and when voting opens up. I am all for voting and I vote every four years, but I don’t need to be reminded every day at the same time over and over again. It is like when your toddler has a playdate or a birthday party to go to a few days from now and they keep asking each day if the party is today.
