This week for the These Dads Are Doing It Right series I wanted to share with you some dads who share the best part of being dad. Athletic Brewing Company sponsored my podcast this month. They really care about family. So I thought it would be cool to add them in the Dads Doing It Right series. Here are four dads from Athletic Brewing Company talking fatherhood and brews. If there are any other dads that you think we should check out leave their name and info in the comment section below.
Athletic Brewing Company And The Best Part Fatherhood

The best part of being a dad is…
As you get older, some of your childlike feelings of pure fun, joy, and even laughter go a bit dormant. It just takes a deeper pull at your heartstrings for them to truly show their full potential. The best part of being a dad is that the full power of these feelings is completely resurrected and experienced at such a deep level on a daily basis.
Your favorite Athletic brew and why…
My favorite Athletic brew is Run Wild IPA. I stopped drinking alcohol six years ago, and at the time there weren’t too many non-alcoholic options available. I was mourning the loss of flavorful, full-bodied craft brews. My curiosity for finding (and trying) every single NA out there quickly turned into an obsession – to the point where I was paying to import brands from the UK just to see if there was anything out there that could hold up to my expectations. Nothing blew me away until my first Athletic shipment arrived. The first sip of Run Wild literally changed the trajectory of my life and that is no exaggeration. It holds all the complex flavors of a true-to-style West Coast IPA while keeping a sense of lightness to it. It’s in a league of its own and on a pedestal that won’t come down.

The best part of being a dad is…
It is hard to summarize what it means to be a father in a sentence or even a paragraph. Watching my children grow up – from the first time I held them in my arms through today – has given me unimaginable joy, stress, happiness, irritation, and every other possible emotion. It has been amazing to enjoy their unconditional love and their cuddles while creating memories and traditions with them that will last a lifetime. Undoubtedly, being a dad is the most important and fulfilling thing I will ever do. I can’t wait to see where the adventures with my family will take me next!
Your favorite Athletic brew and why…
My favorite Athletic brew at the moment is Lodge Life. I have always loved darker beers, and Lodge Life has been an amazing brew to enjoy during the cold winter months. The vanilla and cacao nibs give it a slight touch of sweetness that I have been loving!

The best part of being a dad is…
Seeing the world come to life through each child’s eyes. Each day brings a new discovery. It allows me to be a kid again and rediscover life’s simple pleasures.
Your favorite Athletic brew and why…
Choosing my favorite Athletic brew feels like being asked to pick a favorite child, but if I had to go with one it would be our Run Wild IPA. It’s our best seller for a reason and I still find myself reaching for it most often. However, our incredibly talented brewing team keeps coming out with amazingly inventive combinations…who knew Mango and Habanero could be the backbone of an incredible IPA?!?

The best part of being a dad is…
I’m only 14 months into fatherhood, but watching my son grow and develop has been incredibly fulfilling. The chance to see the world through his eyes, and simultaneously experience all of his firsts, is something that I will cherish forever. But the best part of being a dad is the joy that comes from playing and interacting with my son. There’s nothing quite like the sound of his laughter to brighten my day and bring a smile to my face.
Your favorite Athletic brew and why…
My favorite Athletic brew is Free Wave Hazy IPA. The combination of Amarillo, Citra, and Mosaic hops is total perfection in my opinion. There are notes of citrus and stone fruit from the Amarillo hops, while the Citra and Mosaic hops bring notes of tropical fruit, berries, and pine. The end result is an ultra-refreshing brew with enough complexity to appeal to IPA lovers while still being approachable to those who don’t regularly drink beer.
