This week for the These Dads Are Doing It Right series I am looking to highlight some parents on a mission. These organizations are looking to help dads and families. These dads and groups are setting up resources for other dads. In addition, if there are any other dads that you think we should check out, leave their name and info in the comment section below.

Parents On A Mission
For over 30 years, Richard Ramos has helped parents, educators, and leaders rebuild trust, strengthen family bonds, and mentor the next generation. His Parents on a Mission (POM) program provides proven tools to help parents lead with authority, discipline, and love—shaping responsible, confident young people. Richard’s work has been recognized by the White House, the U.S. Congress, and International organizations for its impact on families and communities.

The Rising Ground Fatherhood Initiative
The Rising Ground Fatherhood Initiative is a New York City program. They help non-custodial and court-involved fathers build healthy parenting skills and strengthen relationships with their children. Led by Director Reginald Mitchell, the program provides trusted support to help men overcome personal challenges and become actively engaged in their children’s lives.

Project Fatherhood
Michael “Big Mike” Cummings is an L.A. gang interventionist, Pentecostal pastor, and community activist from Watts, California. In addition, he is renowned for his violence prevention work and co-founding the Jordan Downs chapter of Project Fatherhood. Partnering with author and sociologist Jorja Leap, he helped lead support groups for inner-city men. So of them had past gang involvement. He helps by teaching parenting skills, coping mechanisms, and community responsibility.

Single Dads United
Single Dads United has a mission to support single dads with resources that promote their children’s success. Therefore they are looking to strengthen their families, and help build legacies that last for generations. Across the country, millions of children are growing up without consistent father involvement. This absence has long term impacts on families and communities. Today, more than 18 million children approximately one in four live in homes without a biological, step, or adoptive father. In conclusion, Single Dads United is committed to changing that narrative. Fathers play a crucial role in lighting up the lives of their children and families, and their mission is to ensure they never lose that vital connection.
