This week’s for the Dads Doing It Right series I wanted to put the spotlight on dads who are teaching their kids life skills. We all want our kids to be successful as they venture out into the world. These fathers are trying to make that possible for their kids. If there are any other dads that you think we should check out leave their site in the comment section below.
Mike Balogh – One Stop Shop For All The Life Skills
I have known Mike for years now. My family became friends with his family when his daughter and my oldest daughter became friends in pre-school. Mike, Sue and their two kids are wonderful people. Even when we moved out of New Jersey we still stay in touch. Over the past few years Mike is teaching his kid all kinds of life skills. One picture that caught my attention is when Mike and his daughter were working on a car together. This was such a cool photo. Mike is making sure he is passing down his life skills to his kids. Well done Mike!
Kyren Gibson – Teaching His Son & Other Financial Literacy
When Kyren Gibson became a dad he realized he needed to change his life, leave the streets behind him and build a legacy for his son, Kyng. Kyren began to research how to increase generational wealth. He focused on nurturing his son and teaching him that work ethic is key; when paired knowledge. The duo began to post various videos online with one of now 8-year old Kyng showcasing his deep understanding of financial terms going viral. Kyren realized there was an opportunity to educate his community about finances by making learning fun, engaging, and motivating. He could help the African-American community build legacies instead of debt. Check out their book here!
