These Dads Are Doing It Right – Part 86 – Dads Making Memories With Their Families

This week’s for the Dads Doing It Right series I am showcasing dads who are making memories with their families. They are becoming bus drivers or ministers to help out families. They are even setting world records. If there are any other dads that you think we should check out leave their name and info in the comment section below.

Dad Creates Memories With Family As He Looks To Set A World Record With His Kids

Chad Kempel is father of quintuplets. Last week, he accomplished a record-breaking feat. He ran in the Oakland’s half-marathon. Now that might not be news, but he ran it while pushing his five four-year-olds in a stroller. Chad was among the thousands of runners who took part in Oakland’s Running Festival, which returned to in-person races for the first time since 2019. He tried to break the record in 2019 with his then-one-year-old quintuplets. With a time of 4:49:29, he missed breaking a record by minutes, as Guinness had set the cut-off time for crossing the finish line at 4:45:00. This time around, he cleared the finish line with plenty of time to spare. Guinness still needed to verify Kempel’s time in Sunday’s race to make the record official. No matter what Guinness says, that was a very cool accomplishment.

Dad Becomes A Bus Driver To Help Out Schools

Clint Whitehead is a family man. He is a dad of three girls. He’s also the president of Western Trailers, in Boise. They make semi-trailers and sell them all over North America. Clint can now add something else to his resume, a school bus driver. Whitehead applied for the job when he heard about the bus driver shortage in the Treasure Valley. Whitehead noticed there were a lot of issues this year with bus pick up and drop off. So, instead of complaining, Whitehead decided to do something about it. He became a bus driver. What a great way to show his kids how to help out their community.

Dad Got Ordained To Officiate Daughter’s Wedding

Marty Martin wanted to make his daughter, Jill’s wedding a little bit more special. Marty, is a retired criminal defense attorney, but once he gets ordained online, he will be an officiant for a day. “My dad is the funniest person I know. So although my mother will likely cry throughout the ceremony, there will definitely be lots of laughs!” Jill said about her dad becoming an ordained minister. Well done Marty! What a great way to make the wedding day more memorable.

Dad Surprises Family At School

I love seeing these stories. They never get old. For one preschooler in New York, he got the surprise visitor at school. The surprise was his dad, Anthony. He returned home a few weeks early from his duty with the U.S. Coast Guard. The surprise didn’t stop in the classroom. After he went to surprise his son, Anthony went to surprise his wife Amanda who was waiting outside the school for pickup. This is something that their family will always remember.
