This week for the These Dads Are Doing It Right series I am highlighting some dads from the MLB. These dads are not only great athletes, but they started up foundations to help out different communities. Check out the work that they are doing. In addition, if there are any other dads that you think we should check out, leave their name and info in the comment section below.
MLB Dads Helping Out Communities

Kyle Tucker – Kyle Tucker Foundation
The Kyle Tucker Foundation was founded by MLB outfielder Kyle Tucker and his family with a heartfelt mission: to raise awareness and provide support for hospice care programs, while also giving back to other meaningful causes in the community. Hospice is more than healthcare – it’s compassion in action. By focusing on pain and symptom management and offering support, hospice helps patients and their loved ones navigate some of life’s most challenging moments with grace and peace. Learn more over at the foundation website.

Trevor Williams – Project 34
Trevor is a husband, father, son, brother and a friend. An MLB veteran of 9 seasons who has been part of Project 34 since its inception, Trevor resides in San Diego with his wife Jackie and 4 children. Serving as co-founder of Project 34, Trevor and Cory grew up playing travel baseball together, eventually following each other to Arizona State University where they were roommates throughout college. Project 34 was created with the overarching goal to positively impact the lives of those living with a spinal cord injury.

Mike Tauchman – Raising Awareness For Cleft And Craniofacial Conditions
Mike and Eileen Tauchman’s daughter Remi was born last year with a cleft palate and for Remi, feeding has been the biggest challenge. This journey has been overwhelming as first-time parents, and as they prepare for Remi’s cleft palate repair surgery, they feel called to give back to other families going through the same. Join the Tauchman family in raising critical funds to support families with emergency needs ranging from transportation to meals. They will be matching donations up to the fundraising goal of $18,000!

Gerrit Cole – Gerrit and Amy Cole Foundation
Gerrit Cole is co-founder and board chair of the Gerrit and Amy Cole Foundation. Established in 2020 with his wife, Amy Cole, the foundation focuses on organizations and causes that improve the standard of living for children across the country. Since coming to New York to pitch for the New York Yankees, the couple made a significant donation to Direct Relief, an organization that coordinated with public health authorities and nonprofit organization to assist health workers responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
