These Dads Are Doing It Right – Part 296 – Dads In Schools 

This week for the These Dads Are Doing It Right series I am showcasing the guys from the Dads in Schools program. Dads In Schools is a movement of community leaders, parents, and local volunteers. Some of these dads played in the NFL. Check out the work that they are doing. Derek Carr

Derek Carr was born in Fresno, California the youngest of three children, to Rodger and Sheryl Carr. Carr met his wife Heather while attending Fresno State University. The two were married June 29, 2012. Derek and Heather reside in Las Vegas, Nevada with their beautiful children, Dallas, Deker, Deakon, and Brooklyn. He and the Dads In Schools team understand the power of presence to provide a safe environment that enables students to thrive as they focus on their education.

Aaron D. Ford 

Attorney General Aaron D. Ford, Nevada’s 34th Attorney General, took office on January 7, 2019, making him the first African American to hold statewide constitutional office in Nevada. AG Ford is proud to have earned five degrees, including his law degree and Ph.D. in Educational Administration from The Ohio State University. AG Ford married his college sweetheart, Berna Rhodes-Ford, who is also an attorney. Together, they raised four children, Avery, Devin, Aaron II, and Alexander.

Daniel Carlson

Daniel Carlson is a standout NFL placekicker for the Las Vegas Raiders. He is known for his high accuracy and strong leg. Carlson was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2018 out of Auburn. He quickly joined the Raiders that same year, becoming one of the league’s top kickers, including an All-Pro selection in 2022. He is part off the Dads In Schools program. 

AJ Cole 

AJ Cole is a standout NFL punter for the Las Vegas Raiders. In addition, those who cover the NFL, say Cole has a powerful leg and high net average. Since joining as an undrafted free agent in 2019, he has become a multiple-time All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection.
