Brandon Copeland is a Renaissance man. Not only is playing football on the highest level in the NFL, but there is much more to him than that. Brandon and his wife, Taylor operate two real estate companies and a nonprofit organization called Beyond the Basics Inc. Plus Brandon is a professor of a financial literacy course which he has called “Life 101” at the University of Pennsylvania.
Brandon teamed up with Capital One for a Mind Over Money Study that helps people understand their finances better. Brandon and I got to chat about that study, playing in the NFL and fatherhood. Brandon and Taylor are blessed with a son and from my interview with him Brandon looks to share his own life experiences with his son as well as leave him with legacy his son would be proud of. We finish the interview with the Fatherhood Quick Five.

About Brandon Copeland
Brandon Copeland is a husband, a father, a son, a brother, an entrepreneur and a professional athlete. He is from Baltimore, Maryland and now lives in New Jersey where he is a starting linebacker for the New York Jets. He went to the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and graduated in May 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Management and Entrepreneurship.
Since college he has been chasing his dream of building an empire in various areas of interest. He and his wife,Taylor, operate two real estate companies (one specializing in flips and the other, rentals) and a nonprofit organization called Beyond the Basics Inc. Their organization looks to help young kids understand and realize their true potential through events. This offseason Brandon is in his second year as a professor of a financial literacy course which he has called “Life 101” at his alma mater. His goal is to use the college classroom and platform as a launch point to get the information to everyone; Ultimately arming everyone with the tools needed to make confident money decisions, and over time help shrink the wealth gap! (Lofty goals, he knows!!) He is also trying to break into the film industry, specifically into production by bringing a few of his creative ideas to life.
In his free time, Brandon enjoys getting out of his comfort zone by traveling to experience different cultures around the world.
