A new week means a new post for Collector of the Week here at The Art of Fatherhood. As a fellow geek and collector of all things Pop Culture I wanted to showcase some cool collections that dads share in our community. We love to see this passion in what people collect. In addition, we talk about the latest movies, sports memorabilia, a coffee mug collection and video games that we are enjoying at the moment.
This Week’s Collector – Coffee Mug Collection
This week’s collector is from Jeff. He is a big fan of coffee and his mug collection definitely proves that.
I remember thinking that when I became an adult I should start collecting things throughout my life to showcase my life’s moments and memories. I don’t remember the first coffee mug I started saving, but I think it may have been the first time I went to the Caribbean. Even though I had traveled across the US and Europe before then, it was that vacation, my first one in my first real profession, that got me to think about collecting. Since then, I have tried to collect mugs from not only places I’ve visited but also from other occasions in my life. Of course, ‘occasion’ has a pretty broad definition as I have collected mugs from TV shows, gyms, museums, sports teams, casinos, Broadway shows, and, of course, superheroes. Of course, each ‘occasion’ has a memory, too.
