Eric Charles always enjoyed celebrating the wins of his family and friends. No matter how big or small the accomplishments are, Eric wanted to give everyone their flowers. One day after he mowed the lawn, he took a moment to survey the fantastic work he did. Usually he would clean the lawn mower, put the mower back in the garage and take a shower. This time he felt inspired to take photos and videos of the pristine lawn he just created from all of his hard work. He tried to show his wife and kids, but they didn’t care.
He was reaching out to the wrong audience. Therefore, he sent a group text of the photos and videos to some of his friends. Immediately he received a barrage of thumbs up emojis or good job texts back from his buddies. A surge of pride filled his soul when he read all his friends’ comments. From that feeling he got inspired to create a boast fest for dads to share all of their wins. Without hesitation all the people he shared that idea with in the group chat said that they would go. Now, Eric just had to plan how to go about setting up the inaugural Boast Fest.
Did You Say Boat Fest?
Eric was looking at different venues for the Boast Fest. The costs were so high that he was thinking of hosting the event in his backyard where the inspiration first came to him. He quickly got that idea out of his mind. It would be another way to show off his lawn, but he didn’t want all those people to show up and possibly damage his lawn. Another moment aha moment popped up. He always loved stopping by certain parking lots that were showcasing the cool cars. So, he could host an event at one of those parking lots.
He reached out to a few different businesses that he thought his friends and other dads would love to hang out at, but he got rejected. One of the businesses thought Eric said boat fest. He started to feel like an idiot trying to explain what a boast fest is all about to people over the phone. On his way home from work, he saw a new fishing store opening up. It wasn’t one of the big box stores. It was a mom and pop style store. Eric thought it was a win-win situation. One, the crowd can learn about the new fishing store and two, he can host the fest there.

The Boast Fest Is A Go!
Matt Williams is the owner of The Codfather. It is the new fishing store that Eric saw on his way home. Eric congratulated Matt on the new store and asked him about using part of his parking lot to host the boast fest. Matt was over the moon about the idea. His words, not mine. Not only would it help bring people to his new store, but he wanted to partake in the festivities. Matt had so many things to boast about to his potential customers.
The day arrived and Eric was a bit nervous about the first annual Boast Fest. Those worries soon subsided when he saw about fifteen cars pull up. Some of those people that showed up were his friends and others arrived after hearing about the event online. The whole day dads were showing other dads a list of projects they did around the house. From painting and staining the deck to a home renovation of the guest room, these dads were in their glory. As Eric walked around with his new buddy, Matt Williams aka The Codfather, he had a huge smile on his face. Dads were being dads and enjoying life. He knew the Boast Fest was a success when people were asking when the next one would happen.
