Jay DeMarcus sits down with me about his new family show on Netflix called DeMarcus Family Rules. He talks to me about how the show came to be and how his kids reacted to the series. Then, we talk about the joys of fatherhood and the values he and his wife, Allison look to instill in their kids. DeMarcus shares his creative process working with his bandmates in Rascal Flatts. About Jay DeMarcus
Jay DeMarcus is the bass guitarist, harmony vocalist and pianist in country music super group Rascal Flatts. Jay traveled and performed as a keyboard player in the Christian music group New Harvest. Later became a member of another Christian music group called East to West before joining Country artist Chely Wright’s band. While playing for Chely Wright, Jay and cousin Gary LeVox met guitarist Joe Don Rooney. After one performance together, the three realized they shared great chemistry and they formed “Rascal Flatts”.
Since 2000, the band has sold over 21 million albums and 25 million digital downloads. They delivered 13 #1 singles to the top of the charts. Rascal Flatts is the most awarded Country group of the past decade. Since then they have earned over 40 trophies from the ACAs, ACMs, AMAs, CMAs, People’s Choice Awards and more. As one of the hottest-selling acts on tour in any genre, they’ve sold over 6 million concert tickets, and counting.
