This week for the These Dads Are Doing It Right series I wanted to share with dads who share all sides of fatherhood. These books share some tough moments as in losing a child or going through a divorce. These books can help other dads. Even if you are not going through a similar experience, these books can help you learn about fatherhood from a different perspective from all sides. In addition, if there are any other dads that you think we should check out leave their name and info in the comment section below.
Paul Frase – All Sides Of Fatherhood
Paul co-founded the Joshua Frase Foundation in 1996 to raise awareness and fund research for an orphan disease called Myotubular Myopathy (MTM). His son, Joshua, succumbed to this disease 40 days shy of his sixteenth birthday. Since 1996, Paul has been an advocate, speaker, and research pioneer for MTM. Beyond his pursuit to find the cure for MTM, he is a motivational speaker, author, and entrepreneur. His mission is to inspire an awakening of the inner strength in leaders and influence them to use the restorative power of hope, love, and faith to impact others positively. You can read his book, Game Changer to learn more about his story. Look out for my interview with Paul on the Art of Fatherhood podcast series.
Nick Shaw – Learning From His Kids
Nick Shaw is an accomplished executive coach and author, known for his profound insights into personal transformation and self-discovery. His upcoming book, My Teacher, My Son, is a poignant reflection on his journey through grief and finding meaning in the face of unimaginable loss. When Nick decided to write a book about the lessons he’s learned from his three sons, William, Kai, and Bodhi, he knew that his story would begin with the tragic death of his oldest son, William. He also knew that My Teacher, My Son wasn’t a grief book but a life book.
Andy Heller – Taking The High Road
Andy Heller teaches real estate investing to new and seasoned investors around the county. In addition, he runs a successful international freight forwarding company. Born in Canada, Andy emigrated to the United States as a child. After his own divorce, he saw a crucial hole in the self-help space for men and women navigating through divorce. The Taking The High Road book is his “give back” effort. This book makes the process easier for those who are considering or who are on the divorce path.
Paul Mandelstein – The World’s Best Dad
Paul Mandelstein is a pioneer in the field of personal communications technologies and body/mind/spirit lifestyle publishing. As the founder of Father Resource Network, he provided support services to help men meet the challenges of fatherhood today. The World’s Best Dad During and After Divorce is a realistic, yet compassionate approach to parenting during and after divorce. The user-friendly format combines bulleted lists with practical suggestions and exercises. In addition, there is even sample dialogues that make even the most difficult conversations with children. Plus, he writes about how you can talk to their former spouses.
