These Dads Are Doing It Right – Part 68 – Dads Looking To Help Out Other Dads

This week’s for the Dads Doing It Right series I wanted to share with you some dads who have created communities or groups that are there to help out other dads. They are looking to connect with other dads and share their fatherhood stories to create stronger dads. If there are any other dads that you think we should check out leave their name and info in the comment section below.

RGV Dads – Networking to Help Out Other Dads

RGV Dads is short for Rio Grande Valley Dads. They are creating opportunities for fathers in the Rio Grande Valley. The RGV Dads group does this by setting up a network through meetups, blogs, and sharing information about fatherhood. They even have video meet ups to create a strong community of dads. This helps dads out by being there for other guys. Make sure you follow them on their Facebook page.

Center for Urban Families – Caring For All Dads

Since their founding in 1999, Center for Urban Families looks to address some of the most pressing issues. These issues include poverty, unemployment, father-absence, and family disintegration. They maintain an unwavering focus on addressing the key challenges of Baltimore’s urban families. Center for Urban Families does this by working to connect fathers to their children, creating opportunities for economic and financial security through work, and providing access to other key interventions and supportive services. Check them out over at their website.

The Father’s Playbook – A Helpful Guide For Dads

The Father’s Playbook was developed specifically for guys. It is in response to the lack of information whose partners are expecting a baby. The foundational work was done by the Center for Health Communication at The University of Texas at Austin. The Texas Safe Babies team at The University of Texas Health Science Center Tyler and the SAGA team at UT Austin then joined to turn this work into a fully-functioning app. The Father’s Playbook Team has experts in health communication, maternal and child health, and infant development. Check out their website for more on The Father’s Playbook.

Dads In The Six – A Podcasting Guide On Fatherhood

Dads in the Six is hosted by two 30-something lifelong friends who discuss a wide range of topics with their new dad perspective. Nicolas’ experience in counseling and Jamie’s IT expertise means absolutely nothing when it comes to this podcast but they think you’ll enjoy what they bring to the table anyway. Check out their show on their Soundcloud page.
