Boot Camp For New Dads – Resources For A New Dad
Boot Camp for New Dads aka Daddy Boot Camp is a unique father-to-father, community-based workshop. They inspire and equip men of different economic levels, ages and cultures to become confidently engaged with their infants. In addition they encourage dads to support their mates and personally navigate their transformation into dads. Founded in 1990, the non-profit Boot Camp for New Dads has graduated more than 325,000 men. It is making it by far the nation’s largest program for new fathers. Their service is now offered in 44 states, on U.S. military bases, Canada and the U.K.
The Dad Gang – Connecting Through Fatherhood
The Dad Gang is an organization committed to building community amongst Black fathers globally. They created a safe space for Black men to find camaraderie, support, and turn up a few times a year. Here, they defy stereotypes, shatter myths and celebrate black fatherhood everyday. Their organization is a place where they encourage, teach, support and share tips that can help all fathers become better dads. Though marred by a racially driven and media amplified stigma that has lead the world to perceive black fathers as widely missing in action, inactive or simply unfit parents, we continue thrive. This is the driving force behind The Dad Gang.
Dad Matter – Great Resources For All Dads
The Dad Matter journey started when they became parents. They learned that time is valuable more than ever. For them they teach their kids what we do, not what we say. Life has endless opportunities for people who want to enrich it. Becoming a dad helped them strive for the better. It is about caring for themselves, their loved ones, and the planet better. They believe that fathers have an important role to play in society. In addition, they can be influential when they become more mindful, emotionally intelligent and connected with themselves. That’s why they share articles and stories about dads who are making a positive impact on the world around them, in hopes that these stories will inspire others to do the same.
Men Having Babies – Representing All Dads
Men Having Babies, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that was spun off in July 2012. It was from a program that ran at the NYC LGBT Center since 2005. It started as a peer support network for biological gay fathers and fathers-to-be, offering monthly workshops and an annual seminar. In addition, over time online resources were developed. The group’s mailing list expanded to thousands of couples and singles from around the world. They teamed up with LGBT family associations to develop similar programs. You can find them in Chicago, San Francisco, LA, Miami, Dallas, Tel Aviv, Taipei and Brussels.
