About Benj Gershman

O.A.R. has crafted its own niche in the music industry. Starting in the 1990’s by selling tapes to friends transitioned into distributing CD’s to friends at colleges nationwide through a mailing list program building a database of listeners as Napster exponentially multiplied the band’s efforts. Heavy touring and opportunities nationwide ensued as the band created studio albums charting on Billboard. Now a mainstay in the American touring industry, O.A.R. maintains a unique relationship, in-person and online, with its audience in order to sustain a seasonal business model.

One effort spearheaded by Gershman was the Green Dream Program. O.A.R. received an EPA Environmental Quality Award for the work they did while touring which helped transform the way concert venues nationwide handle their waste and recycling systems. His podcast, What Could Be Bad elevates and de-stigmatizes mental health and wellness conversations through podcast interviews. Make sure you follow Benj on Instagram at @benjgershman.
