A new week means a new post for Collector of the Week here at The Art of Fatherhood. As a fellow geek and collector of all things Pop Culture I wanted to showcase some cool collections that dads share in our community. We love to see this passion in what people collect. We talk about the latest movies, sports memorabilia, Hot Wheels car collection and video games that we are enjoying at the moment.
This Week’s Collector – When Comic Books Meet Hot Wheels
This week’s collector is from Fred. Fred wanted to share his comic book Hot Wheels collection. I remember I had a few Hot Wheels cars when I was a kid. It was cool to see the old school cars from his collection.
When I was about six or seven years old I remember my grandpa bought me a few Hot Wheels cars. Over time I would pick a few from the store with the money I saved from my allowance. As I got into reading comic books I started to see that Hot Wheels would come out with superhero cars. I picked them up when I could get them. Now as a dad, I keep the collection going with my kids. We picked up a few sets at the store and I took pictures before we opened them up.
Thanks for sharing Fred. I like the fact you passed on the tradition of collecting to your kids.
Whatcha Got?
It can be comic books, bottle caps, records, helmets or whatever you are into! I want to see what your passion is and why you started up that collection. For me, I believe that in each collection lies a better story. I want to share your story! Feel free to reach out to me and share your collection. If you enjoyed this post check out another Collector of the Week article.
