Don’t Forget To Put The Safety Belt On Your Kid’s First Phone

Do you remember when you brought your child home from the hospital for the first time? You double checked and tripled checked to make sure your baby was secured safely in the car seat. Maybe you went to your local fire department to make sure you installed the car seat correctly. You probably  drove really slow on the road and took the back roads home. You cared so much for your child that you made sure you did everything you could to keep them safe.

How about when you give them their first smartphone? If you want to make sure you are keeping them just as safe as when you brought them home from the hospital, you need to check out Gabb

Why Gabb Should Be Your Kid’s First Phone

What is Gabb? If you haven’t heard about them, you need to make sure you check them out. Gabb does everything to let kids be kids, while letting parents feel at ease when they give their kids their first smartphone

Gabb Phones and smartwatches make sure kids can’t surf the internet and there are no social media apps. Gabb’s smartwatches and smartphones include essentials like GPS tracking, voice calling, safe messaging, and more. So your kids can stay connected to you without any of the dangers from regular phones.

Let Your Kids Embrace Technology While You Have Peace Of Mind

If we think our kids won’t need to embrace technology we would be doing them a disservice. The jobs of tomorrow start today. So we need to make sure they can live in this digital age. What our kids do not need is the negative parts of a smartphone. There have been many studies that show the dangers of social media. Your kids can get bullied. It can hurt their mental health. In addition, there are child predators pretending to be kids their age. Your kids can have self esteem issues and compare themselves to everyone else.

That is just the tip of the iceberg. As a parent with everything that is on your plate, it will be tough to manage your kid on a phone that lets them do whatever they want.

Yes, it starts with us as parents to teach our kids about online safety, but it is not just your child. There are many different influences around them such as school, sports and clubs. It would be the equivalent of teaching your child to drive for the first time by having them go on the highway. You wouldn’t do that to them, so why give them a phone that could face just as many dangers? Gabb is there to make sure your kids can stay connected to you, enjoy a fun phone that allows them to test the waters of smartphone. Gabb allows your kids to take small steps into the digital world safely. To learn more and to pick out which phone is best for your kids, go to their website at gabb.com

Please note: I teamed up with Gabb for this post and campaign and was compensated, but my thoughts are my own.

  2. My kids are asking for a phone. I thought they were too young, but everyone in their class has one. This might be the way to go for our family.

  3. Phones should come with a warning label. Adults can be addicted to their phones. Giving a young impressionable child a phone with no limits will harm them. Gabb should be talked about in schools.
