These Dads Are Doing It Right – Part 191 – Great Dad And Son Duos In Sports

This week for the These Dads Are Doing It Right series I am showcasing a few dad and son duos in sports. These dad and son combos have made a name for themselves in the sporting world. It is a remarkable feat to do in pro sports. In addition, if there are any other dads that you think we should check out leave their name and info in the comment section below.

Dad And Son Duos

Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr.

There have been many father and son duos in professional sports, but what the Griffeys have done by playing together is incredible. Plus to add more shine to this story, they made history. On Sept. 14, 1990, Ken Griffey Jr. and Ken Griffey Sr. made history when they became the first father-son duo to hit back-to-back home runs in a game against the California Angels. So beyond them both making it to the professional level, it is amazing to see this father and son duo hit back to back homers.

Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr

Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr are fan favorites in the world of NASCAR. For Dale Sr. , he was a 7-time NASCAR Cup Series champion. His aggressive driving style earned him the nicknames the Intimidator, the Man in Black and Ironhead. Dale Earnhardt Jr made a name for himself in NASCAR as well by winning champions. They have fans all around the world because each had their own style.

Dell, Steph and Seth Curry

Earlier this year there was a historic night in the NBA. This happened when Seth Curry and Steph Curry played against each other as their father, Dell Curry, calls the game in the broadcast booth. Before Steph and Seth made it to the NBA, Dell was draining threes for the Charlotte Hornets. Dell has said many times that he is a proud dad of both of his sons and is blessed to be their dads.

Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning

Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning have had successful collegiate and professional football careers. Just like Dell Curry, Archie was happy to see his sons have more success in the NFL as both Peyton and Eli won two Super Bowls each. Even after all of their NFL careers they have made successful transitions to other professions. From creating media companies to being a spokesperson the Mannings are still relevant after football.
