A new week means a new post for Collector of the Week here at The Art of Fatherhood. As a fellow geek and collector of all things Pop Culture I wanted to showcase some cool collections that dads share in our community. We love to see this passion in what people collect. We talk about the latest movies, sports memorabilia, Kotobukiya statues, comic books and video games that we are enjoying at the moment.
This Week’s Collector – A Kotobukiya Pop Culture Collection
This week’s collector is from me. I started collecting Kotobukiya Star Wars statues a few years ago. Then when I saw some Marvel statues from the same company I picked up a few as well. Here are my thoughts on this collection. Do you have any Kotobukiya statues? Let me know in the comment section below.
When I was at Barnes and Noble with my family while I was living in New Jersey I came across a Star Wars Stormtrooper Kotobukiya statue in their collectible section. I think the Stormtrooper design is really cool and I love the different variants from all the movies in the saga. After I thought I was done collecting those statues when I saw the Marvel line from Kotobukiya. There was a sale on the Avengers set as well as a Wolverine statue. So I was able to pick up a few of them at a really great price. In the Marvel series I like the Spider-Man, Venom, Carnage and Spider-Man 2099 the most.
Whatcha Got?
It can be comic books, bottle caps, records, helmets or whatever you are into! I want to see what your passion is and why you started up that collection. For me, I believe that in each collection lies a better story. I want to share your story! Feel free to reach out to me and share your collection. If you enjoyed this post check out another Collector of the Week article.
