Boris Kodjoe Talks Fatherhood, Family & Station 19

Boris Kodjoe sits down with me to talk about his fatherhood journey. We talk about the values he and his wife, Nicole look to instill into their kids. Boris shares some of his experiences as a father and what his kids have taught him about life. We then talk about his show on ABC, Station 19. He shares the influence this pandemic has on this season’s storyline. After that, we finish the interview with the Fatherhood Quick Five. 

About Boris Kodjoe

German native Boris Kodjoe, who plays Captain Robert Sullivan on ABC’s Station 19, is best known for his role in the television series Soul Food where he earned three NAACP Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor. His other television credits include Last Man on Earth, Undercovers, The Real Husbands of Hollywood and Code Black.

His film credits include Resident Evil: Retribution, Resident Evil: Afterlife, Baggage Claim, Love and Basketball, Brown Sugar, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion, Addicted and The Gospel and Surrogates. He also was the voice of the German horse, Klaus, in the animated 20th Century Fox feature Ferdinand, opposite Jon Cena, Kate McKinnon and Daveed Diggs.

Kodjoe made his Broadway debut in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, opposite James Earl Jones; and in 2015, he and his wife, actress Nicole Ari Parker, took on new roles as daytime talk show hosts on The Boris & Nicole Show. The nationally televised talker had a four-week summer run and presented their take on everything from current events to parenting and relationships, as well as featured celebrity interviews.

He and Nicole started Sophie’s Voice Foundation, in honor of his daughter, Sophie, who was diagnosed with spina bifida at birth. Together they advocate for the prevention of neural tube defects through folic acid fortification. In addition to that his wife, Nicole is the founder of Gymwrap. She has donated over $500K in masks to frontline workers. Kodjoe lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their two children, Sophie and Nicolas.
