A new week means a new post for Collector of the Week here at The Art of Fatherhood. As a fellow geek and collector of all things Pop Culture I wanted to showcase some cool collections that dads share in our community. We love to see this passion in what people collect. We talk about the latest movies, sports memorabilia, an E.T. card collection and video games that we are enjoying at the moment.
This Week’s Collector – An E.T. Card Collection
This week’s collector is from Geoff. Geoff talks about one of his favorite childhood movies and how he got into collecting cards from the movie.
E.T. was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. I had a stuffed E.T. and a shirt with him on it. One day I remember going into a local grocery store and seeing the E.T. card box. I asked my dad if I could get a few card packs. He bought me a few and I opened them all up in the car. I started saving my allowance so I could buy packs when I would go shopping with my parents. It was such a rush when you got a new pack and hoping for new cards for your set.
Thanks for sharing Geoff. I love the feeling of opening a new pack of cards and hoping to get the cards you need for your collection.
Whatcha Got?
It can be comic books, bottle caps, records, helmets or whatever you are into! I want to see what your passion is and why you started up that collection. For me, I believe that in each collection lies a better story. I want to share your story! Feel free to reach out to me and share your collection. If you enjoyed this post check out another Collector of the Week article.
