A new week means a new post for Collector of the Week here at The Art of Fatherhood. As a fellow geek and collector of all things Pop Culture I wanted to showcase some cool collections that dads share in our community. We love to see this passion in what people collect. We talk about the latest movies, sports memorabilia, action figures collections and video games that we are enjoying at the moment.
This Week’s Collector – My Vintage Star Wars Action Figure Collection
This week’s collector is from me. While watching the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ and seeing Obi-Wan look after Luke Skywalker I thought about the original trilogy. That lead me to think about my old school Star Wars action figures.
I became a fan of the Star Wars movies when I was a kid growing up in the 1980’s. My favorite character still is Luke Skywalker. When I saw the Kenner toy line back in the day I was so excited. For my birthday or Christmas I would ask for any Star Wars toys. From my parents to relatives I started getting a lot of those figures. One year I got the Darth Vader and C-3PO cases to house said figures. I had a blast creating my own stories with those action figures. When my kids were toddlers I remember bringing out those toys and they immediately started playing with them. I was happy to pass on my toys onto them. Now the figures and cases are in my office.
