A new week means a new post for Collector of the Week here at The Art of Fatherhood. As a fellow geek and collector of all things Pop Culture I wanted to showcase some cool collections that dads share in our community. We love to see this passion in what people collect. We talk about the latest movies, sports memorabilia, an Atari 2600 collection and video games that we are enjoying at the moment.
This Week’s Collector – An Old School Atari 2600 Collection
This week’s collector is from Trevor. Trevor is kicking it old school with his Atari 2600 cartridge collection. Here is his story.
I have been a fan of your series for some time Art. I made a trip to my parents house over the weekend to look for my old school toys. Most of them were donated, but my Atari 2600 game collection was still there. I am not sure what happened to my console, but that is for another day. I wanted to see if you wanted to share my Atari game collection for your column. Besides Pac-Man and Q-Bert, I played a lot of sports games like Super Football, Pole Position, RealSports Tennis RealSports Boxing and RealSports Volleyball. Sports games have come along way since then, but I have fond memories of playing those games.
Thanks for sharing Trevor. Your story took me back to the 80’s and playing the 2600 with my family.
Whatcha Got?
It can be comic books, bottle caps, records, helmets or whatever you are into! I want to see what your passion is and why you started up that collection. For me, I believe that in each collection lies a better story. I want to share your story! Feel free to reach out to me and share your collection. If you enjoyed this post check out another Collector of the Week article.
