A new week means a new post for Collector of the Week here at The Art of Fatherhood. As a fellow geek and collector of all things Pop Culture I wanted to showcase some cool collections that dads share in our community. We love to see this passion in what people collect. We talk about the latest movies, sports memorabilia, a Silverhawks toy collection and video games that we are enjoying at the moment.
This Week’s Collector – A Silverhawks Toy Collection
This week’s collector is from Geoff. Goeff takes us back to the 1980’s with his Silverhawks toy collection. I was a fan of this show and was happy to see his collection show up in my email! Here is his story.
My favorite show growing up as a kid was Thundercats. Then in the late 80’s when the Silverhawks came out this show became my second favorite show. My parents and grandparents would get me the toys from this cartoon series. The toys were from Kenner, who were the head honcho for action figures in the 80’s. I am glad I kept these figures not just because they are rare, but my sons love playing with toys their dad played with when I was their age. Thank you for sharing my collection. I really enjoy this series.
Thanks for sharing Geoff. Really appreciate your story and your collection!
It can be comic books, bottle caps, records, helmets or whatever you are into! I want to see what your passion is and why you started up that collection. For me, I believe that in each collection lies a better story. I want to share your story! Feel free to reach out to me and share your collection. If you enjoyed this post check out another Collector of the Week article.
