Geeking Out Over The Past And Present

Please note: I teamed up with HBO Max for this article, but my thoughts are my own.

One of my favorite shows growing up as a kid was Batman: The Animated Series. The series debuted back in 1992. This show was something that I had never seen before. It was dark and the animation was so cool. The music and animation added to the mythos of Batman. The cast was one of the best to ever work on an animated series. Kevin Conroy was the voice of Batman and Bruce Wayne. Mark Hamill was the voice of The Joker. There were so many one liners, unforgettable episodes and characters they brought to life in that series. Now I am showing my daughters this series. I am showing shows that I geeked out over when I was their age. I am happy to say they enjoyed it as well.

Geeking Out Together As A Family

My family and I spend quality time together by sharing our favorite books, movies and TV shows. We talk about the show, the cast and we also talk about what happens after the series. We make up our own fan-fiction. On family movie night we really enjoy watching comic book movies. Raising daughters, I really appreciate movies like Wonder Woman. This movie has a female as the lead role. Seeing people like Wonder Woman be the lead helps my daughters realize that women can do anything they set their mind to.

We also have been checking out Stargirl. This is another show that my daughters enjoyed and we talked about the historic DC comic book characters in that series. Shazam! and The LEGO Batman Movie are some of our all time favorites for family movie night. The fact that I get to share my fandoms with my family. Not only do I get to share the things I geek out on, but my wife and daughters share what they geek out on. This is a great way to bond as a family. I am so thankful for that time I have with my family.
